National News: A heartbreaking incident took place on Friday morning in the Jhalawar district of Rajasthan, where the roof of a government school collapsed, leading to the death of four students and injuries to several others.
According to initial reports, the accident happened at a government upper primary school located in Piplaudi village, under the Manohar Thana area of Jhalawar. The roof of one of the classrooms suddenly collapsed while students were inside. As the roof fell, children were trapped beneath the debris, sparking chaos at the scene.
Jhalawar’s Superintendent of Police, Amit Kumar, informed reporters that the accident claimed the lives of four students. Additionally, 17 children have been reported injured, some of them seriously. The injured students have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Soon after the collapse, teachers and local villagers rushed to help the students. Rescue operations began immediately, and efforts were made to pull children out of the rubble as quickly as possible. According to the police, the prompt action by locals and school staff helped save many lives.
Emergency services, including police, ambulances, and disaster response teams, reached the scene and joined in the rescue efforts. The area has now been sealed off, and a team of engineers has been sent to inspect the building’s structure.
Police sources revealed that the incident occurred during regular school hours when children were attending class. Without any warning, a large section of the roof caved in, trapping students inside. The loud noise drew the attention of nearby villagers and teachers, who immediately ran in to help.
This heartbreaking incident has once again highlighted the poor infrastructure in government schools throughout India. Locals claim that the building was old and had not been properly maintained. They allege that despite complaints, no repair work was carried out.
Following the incident, officials from the district administration visited the site and assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible. A detailed inquiry has been ordered to investigate how the building was cleared for use despite its poor condition.
The Rajasthan state government has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of young lives. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot extended his condolences to the victims’ families and assured compensation along with full medical care for the injured. He also assured that action will be taken after the investigation report is received.
The village of Piplaudi is in mourning, with the entire community in shock over the sudden deaths of schoolchildren. Many parents and villagers gathered at the school, demanding justice and immediate government action.
This tragic incident highlights the urgent need for regular inspection and maintenance of public buildings, especially schools, where the safety of children should be a top priority.
